VNA is a single-source MRO and Automation service bureau supplying commodity electrical and automation components.  We provide customers with a single contact for contract services and e-commerce while connecting our 500 locations together via established VNA electronic transaction standards.

VNA is and will continue to be operated and managed by a paid staff that is focused on building win-win relationships with our members and our national customers. As a member owned organization, our members are directly involved in the accounts that are related to their business. The organization is not in business to make a profit based on our contracts with customers. Instead, it is focused on providing the opportunities to its participating members to make a profit as they service and support national account customers. To achieve this goal, VNA operates primarily as a service bureau for its members, and performs specific functions designed to minimize customer costs and maximize member value.

Some of the key functions that are performed by VNA include:

  • Lead National Accounts Sales Activities, coordinating carefully with the member distributors and Rockwell Automation, Inc.
  • Handle all contract development including pricing, proposal, and negotiations, in a manner to avoid anti-trust concerns
  • Lead the contract implementation effort to insure consistency and utilization of best practices
  • Build customer item catalogs and maintain web storefront to meet the demands of the central purchasing buyer
  • Enable access to e-procurement systems
  • Receive orders via EDI, XML, flat file, email, http, etc. Normalize into a common format and route to the appropriate member distributor in the local market
  • Collect shipment and invoice data for building high quality performance/usage reporting
  • Build Web-based customer self-service reporting
  • The VNA board of directors and senior management team recognize that the organization cannot add additional cost to the distribution channel or customer infrastructure.  All incremental costs that are incurred must either reduce cost at the distributor level or be offset by other services that the VNA organization will perform for its membership and their customers.

We are built on top of a multi-billion dollar network serving more than 100,000 North American customers.  Via VNA, this network can provide superior data management and reporting systems, which give you the information you need in real time to accurately evaluate plant and supplier performance and to manage procurement costs with real-time precision.

VNA also offers a wide range of services to support the requirements of industrial customers.
